Special Concert Formats

It doesn’t always have to be a classical symphony concert in the evening. We also have quite different things to offer. See and hear for yourself – explore our concert series.

Chamber Music at 5

Experience members of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich in a variety of chamber music formations and discover another side of “your” musicians. There is a great deal of passion here: the musicians programme their concerts themselves and are able to interpret the pieces just as they wish. Get yourself in the mood for the concert in the Café at 4 and bring your children (from five years) with you. During the concert they will be working as musical detectives.

Chamber Music at 5 takes place on Sundays at 5 p.m. in the Johanneskirche church near Limmatplatz in Zurich.

Lunch Concerts: your lunchtime breather

We invite you to take a break from everyday life for three quarters of an hour over lunchtime. Our Lunch Concerts offer you the option between chamber music at Kaufleuten and an orchestral concert at the Tonhalle Maag. After the concert, savour lunch or a snack in the Foyer Tonhalle Maag or a restaurant nearby. Thereafter, you’ll be able to face your afternoon calmly and with a clear head.

Lunch Concerts are given on Thursdays at 12.15 p.m.

Literature & Music

Music serves to accompany stories and as a leitmotif in novels. Conversely, sagas, poems and stories have always inspired composers – there are innumerable links between literature and music. In our Literature & Music series, we and our guests explore these connections with relish. Discover literary and musical pearls and how they relate to each other.

The Literature & Music series is going to take place at Tonhalle Maag or at Miller's on Sundays at 11.15 a.m.

#bebeethoven
